Women Still Have a Long Way to Go

Today is International Women's Day, 2009. Belinda Stronach (former MP and Chair of the Belinda Stronach Foundation) observes that in tough economic times, fear about layoffs, bankrupticies and companies shutting their doors threatens to push women's issues off the public agenda. She says that "taking stock in the state of Canadian women in 2009 means taking a hard looking at the inequalities that reman, and taking action to help eliminate them."
